Mega fauna!

Moving some fence posts became a nerve wracking experience for my wife and I today, no less than 9 of these huge creatures protested us dismantling their hiding place!
My love for native plants has inadvertently created the ideal conditions for 'other' natives!

Religious storm

There is a storm brewing in the United states of America.
Many Christians are gripped by a fear of the loss of their nations ideals, some think there are those that are seeking to deliberately and maliciously destroy their country.
From an outside perspective it looks very, very, different; while there are events occurring that are in a sense "un American" it is far too easy to just blame the liberals.
There are reasons why this has happened, and why it was allowed to happen.
When the United States primary Christian export to this part of the world was "the prosperity doctrine" at a time when rampant greed and borrowing was peaking back home, you have to wonder how God may see the whole deal.
If Obama is indeed a "Marxist" as many claim, perhaps that is simply a correction of the rampant greed and excess of the past 2 decades, Is God happy with capitalist greed? if not how would he respond?
The response of American Christians to these issues, and their need for honesty and humility is more critical than ever before in their nations history.

Pike River and the blame shifters

An appalling attitude is beginning to circulate already regarding "blame" for the Pike River incident.
There are attempts to some how level responsibility at "the greenies" for this event occurring, due to the supposed unreasonable environmental restrictions placed on the mine.

This is an appallingly lazy and ignorant opinion to hold, and completely disrespectful of the dead and grieving.
When the international mining industry is asking questions of how in the hell an explosion of this magnitude is even possible in a modern, brand new mine, you would think the first finger to be pointed would be at the company and safety procedure.

But no, the finger is being pointed at 'greenies', they say, you see, that the mine should have been open cast, should have been an American style "mountain top removal" mine, to avoid the Methane.

But is this even possible? lets see what Pike River management said:

"But it would be physically and economically unviable, even if we could do it"

Will that stop the nonsense?
